The European Commission has, under the Digital Markets Act, ordered Google to give rival AI assistants equal access to key Android features and to share anonymised search data with eligible search providers, with search-data sharing starting in January 2027 and Android changes taking effect from July 2027.
The European Commission‘s first three-year review of the Foreign Subsidies Regulation concluded that the framework is fit for purpose and effective, while identifying concerns about administrative burden and complexity that it plans to address through targeted procedural simplifications to be drafted in autumn 2026 and adopted in 2027.
The Belgian Competition Authority has published its 2025 annual report, which describes a year combining preventive measures such as two public consultations on sustainability agreements and public procurement and healthcare sector guidance with proactive enforcement reflected in the opening of ten new cases and noteworthy merger reviews, alongside internal capacity-building developments and its 2026 priorities note.
