
Mehmet Ali Erkan is Counsel at CoPartners, focusing on competition law, administrative law and litigation.
Prior to joining CoPartners, Mehmet Ali spent more than a decade at the Turkish Competition Authority, where he most recently served as Deputy Head of the Legal Department. In this role, he was involved in the management of litigation proceedings concerning the Authority and provided legal advice to the Competition Board and the Authority’s enforcement departments. He also played an active role in the revision of the Authority’s secondary legislation.
During his tenure at the Turkish Competition Authority, Mehmet Ali developed extensive experience in administrative litigation arising from competition law matters. As Legal Counsel, he represented the Authority in more than 300 court proceedings and hearings, particularly in annulment actions concerning administrative fines imposed by the Competition Board. He also advised on disciplinary proceedings and a broad range of public and private law matters.
Earlier in his career, Mehmet Ali served as Advisor to the President of the Turkish Competition Authority and practised as an independent lawyer. He also held various management and advisory positions within the Turkish Air Force.
Mehmet Ali graduated from Gazi University Faculty of Law and is pursuing an LL.M. in Private Law at Hacı Bayram Veli University, where his academic work focuses on damages arising from competition law infringements.
