The Turkish Competition Authority published the Preliminary Report on the Pharmaceutical Sector Inquiry, prepared as part of the sector inquiry launched in 2021. The report examines the balance between patent protection and competition, the impact of the regulatory framework on the market entry of generic medicines, exclusivity practices, public pharmaceutical procurement and competition concerns arising from the exercise of intellectual property rights, while proposing practical and targeted policy recommendations for areas requiring improvement.

The Romanian Competition Council imposed administrative fines totalling approximately USD 18.3 million on 21 undertakings for engaging in resale price maintenance practices concerning agricultural seeds and crop protection products.
The German Federal Cartel Office concluded that the German Football League’s (DFL) 50+1 ownership rule is compatible with current competition The authority stated that the rule can be justified by preserving the club-based structure of professional football and ensuring member participation, provided that it is applied consistently and without unjustified exceptions.

Raporda, ilaç sektöründe patent koruması ile rekabet arasındaki denge, düzenleyici çerçevenin eşdeğer ilaçların pazara girişine etkisi, münhasırlık uygulamaları, kamuda ilaç tedarik süreçleri ve fikri mülkiyet haklarının kullanımından kaynaklanabilecek rekabet sorunları ele alınırken; iyileştirmeye açık alanlara yönelik uygulanabilir ve hedef odaklı politika önerilerine yer verildi.
