The Turkish Competition Board has launched an investigation into EssilorLuxottica S.A. over alleged de facto exclusivity practices in the markets for the wholesale of ophthalmic lenses, wholesale of contact lenses as well as the production and distribution of ophthalmic machine equipment and consumables.

The European Commission (the “Commission”) has opened an in-depth investigation to investigate an arbitration award ordering Bulgaria to pay €61.04 million to ACF Renewable Energy Limited, as the Commission’s preliminary view is that the arbitration award and its implementation would constitute State aid, and to assess whether such State aid is incompatible with the internal market under Article 107(1) of the TFEU.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has appealed a November 2025 district court ruling in favor of Meta Platforms, (“Meta”) continuing its monopolization case alleging that Meta has illegally maintained a monopoly in personal social networking services through anticompetitive conduct – by buying the significant competitive threats it identified in Instagram and WhatsApp.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission of Ireland has launched an investigation into suspected resale price maintenance in the small electric home appliances sector, following unannounced inspections in Ireland and Germany conducted in cooperation with the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt).
