The European Commission has approved Universal Music Group’s (“UMG”) acquisition of Downtown Music Holdings after finding that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in recorded music, A&L services and music publishing, but raised concerns over UMG’s potential access to commercially sensitive data of rival record labels stored on Curve, making approval conditional on the full divestment of Curve, including its customers and data, contracts, personnel and platform, with only a limited transitional licence granted without access to customer data.
The European Commission has unconditionally approved Google’s acquisition of Wiz after finding that the transaction would not raise competitive concerns in cloud infrastructure or cloud security, as customers would continue to have credible alternatives and the data accessible to Google would not be commercially sensitive.
The European Commission has issued a Statement of Objections to Meta, saying that by excluding third-party AI assistants from accessing and interacting with users on WhatsApp, it is likely to be abusing this dominant position and is considering interim measures to prevent serious and irreparable harm on the

Avrupa Komisyonu, Google’ın Wiz’i devralmasına, müşterilerin makul alternatiflere sahip olmaya devam edeceği ve Google’ın erişebileceği verilerin ticari açıdan hassas olmayacağı gerekçesiyle işlemin bulut altyapısı veya bulut güvenliği alanlarında rekabetçi endişe doğurmayacağını tespit ederek koşulsuz izin verdi.
Avrupa Komisyonu, Meta’ya bir itiraz bildirimi (Statement of Objections) göndererek, WhatsApp’ta üçüncü taraf yapay zekâ asistanlarının kullanıcılarla erişim kurmasını ve etkileşimde bulunmasını engelleyerek hâkim durumunu kötüye kullanmasının muhtemel olduğunu ve pazarda ciddi ve telafisi mümkün olmayan zararları önlemek için geçici tedbirler almayı değerlendirdiğini belirtti.
